When considering Post 16 provision it is essential all students are well informed and select courses which suit their needs and interests. As such, each student will take part in discussions with senior staff and have the opportunity to attend course information sessions, taster days and receive further impartial advice.

Application Process

Every student applying to Coombeshead Sixth Form College has a discussion with senior staff and are supported in their decisions. Students are guided and supported through Year 11 to make informed decisions about their progression into Post 16.

Open Evening

Our Open evening in Autumn is a fantastic way for you to look at our dedicated Sixth Form facilities and speak with our specialist staff. Once you've looked at our prospectus, this an invaluable opportunity to find out more about courses and have your questions answered. Keep an eye out on our website and follow us on social media for dates.

Apply

Once you have had the chance to find out more about our courses from the website, prospectus and Open Events, you will also have a discussion with senior staff where you will be supported in making your decision. Students are guided and supported through Year 11 to make informed decisions about their progression into Post 16. Now it’s time to apply, the application process is an online form, it becomes available for internal applicants in the Autumn Term and will be shared with students and parents on email.

Transition

In the Summer term, applicants will be invited to a Transition morning. This event gives you another opportunity to find out more about college life, meet tutors and other students studying the same subjects. You will also be given tasks to complete ahead of the start of term.

Enrolment

Following GCSE Results Day, we will be in contact to confirm your place on each of your chosen courses. The Sixth Form team and our Careers Advisor will be available to help finalise your subjects by advising, supporting and guiding you if needed.

Once enrolment is complete, you can look forward to receiving your timetable and stepping into your student life within Coombeshead Sixth Form College!

New Student Induction

At the start of the Autumn term, all students will attend an induction day. This day will give you further guidance and support as you begin your journey with us. Students must be available to attend their Induction, as some lessons will begin on this day.
